This need for appreciation starts right from when we are small children.\u00a0 Children expect everyone to pay attention to them and clap for them after they recite nursery rhymes.\u00a0 A student feels proud when appreciated by his teacher.\u00a0 This need for appreciation continues until adult-hood.<\/p>\n<p>In an organization setting, an employee feels elated when appreciated by his or her manager for their <a title=\"Synergita\" href=\"https:\/\/synergita.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">good performance<\/a>. \u00a0Employee appreciation can do wonders for the morale of the employees.\u00a0 It <a title=\"Motivation\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.synergita.com\/page\/3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">motivates<\/a> them to strive for better performance all the time.<\/p>\n<p>A manager can <a title=\"Employee appreciation\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.synergita.com\/2014\/05\/importance-of-employee-appreciation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">appreciate<\/a> employees in various ways.\u00a0 It can be a simple thank you note, a pat on the back, an email appreciating the work, an award (like an outstanding employee award), a memorable gift or can be in the form of monetary rewards.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.synergita.com\/synergita-test-drive.html?utm_source=Blog&amp;utm_medium=Post&amp;utm_campaign=Raji\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5470 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/localhost\/synergitablognew\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/synergita_test-drive-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"96\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newtest.synergita.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/synergita_test-drive-1-1.jpg 650w, https:\/\/newtest.synergita.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/synergita_test-drive-1-1-300x44.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Rewarding employees\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.synergita.com\/2014\/04\/rewarding-employees-is-not-always-expensive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Employee appreciation<\/a> need not always be expensive! A sincere word of appreciation would help employees to remain motivated for months!\u00a0 I think that more than the type of appreciation, the intention to truly and sincerely appreciate is what matters a lot to the employee and will be cherished by the employee.<\/p>\n<p>A lot of success in organizations also comes from the co-ordinated efforts of a team or team-work. In such cases, managers would have to take care to appreciate the efforts of everyone involved.<\/p>\n<p>Benefits of employee appreciation<\/p>\n<p>1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It improves the morale of employees and motivates them to perform better.<\/p>\n<p>2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It engages employee.\u00a0 Employees feel cherished and become more loyal to the organization.<\/p>\n<p>3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Reduces attrition.\u00a0 Employees who are appreciated for good performance usually do not leave the organization for just for an increase in their salary.<\/p>\n<p>4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It leads to better organization goal achievement because of better performance.<\/p>\n<p>5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Employees more willingly participates in organization related activities, because they are more engaged.<\/p>\n<p>6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If employees are appreciated when it is due to them, they would not mind to hear negative feedback now and then.\u00a0 In fact they would be willing to listen to their weak-areas and would make an effort to improve them.<\/p>\n<p>7)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Employees who receive appreciation would be willing to pass on the appreciation to people who report to them.
